I'm Bram Rutten, a freelance designer in Haacht, Belgium. This site doesn't track you: it sets no cookies and shows no ads. The only personal data it handles is what you send me through the contact form.
What I collect
When you send a message: your name, your email address, the topic you picked and your message. The site also keeps the time you sent it and whether the email reached me. Your IP address is not saved.
Why, and for how long
Only to read and answer your message. I keep it for up to 12 months, then it's deleted automatically. If you'd like it gone sooner, tell me and I'll delete it.
Who handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the site, stores your message in its database (in Western Europe) and runs Turnstile, the spam check.
- Resend sends me your message as an email.
Neither uses your message for anything else. Both are American companies, so data can be handled outside the EU; they rely on the safeguards the GDPR requires for that, such as standard contractual clauses.
The spam check
When you open the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're a person and not a bot. It looks at signals from your browser and your IP address to decide, without puzzles in most cases. It isn't used for advertising.
Visitor statistics
To see how many people visit and which pages work, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, doesn't follow you from site to site and doesn't store your IP address. It counts visits, pages, countries, browsers and how fast pages load, in totals that can't be traced back to you.
Your rights
You can ask me what I have about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to me using it. Email me at contact@bramrutten.be. If you think I handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority at dataprotectionauthority.be.
